Description

Steerman SX & S Series Heavy Load Moving Skates

Models: SX-10 • SX-20 • SX-30 • S-60
(Capacities: 10–60 tons)

The Steerman SX and S Series are industrial-grade heavy load moving systems engineered for transporting extremely heavy machinery, steel structures, construction components, and oversized loads. Designed as stable three-point or four-point transport systems, these skates provide safe, smooth, and cost-efficient movement of loads up to 60 tons.

Each system features a steerable front skate with a large-diameter thrust-bearing turntable and rear skates connected with a tie rod for perfectly aligned travel. Built from ductile graphite iron with corrosion-resistant components and abrasion-resistant rollers, the SX and S skates ensure long-term durability in demanding industrial environments.

Lifting equipment must be selected, installed, inspected, and used in accordance with relevant legislation, including LOLER and PUWER where applicable. Regular inspection by a competent person is required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these skates be used on uneven floors?

Yes. The universal-joint roller suspension allows each roller group to maintain floor contact on uneven surfaces.

Are the rollers floor-friendly?

Yes. The rollers are made from elastic, abrasion-resistant polyamide and are safe for most industrial floors.

Can I operate the skates as a four-point system?

Yes. While standard use is a 3-point loading system, the design also allows 4-point configurations for extra-large or unstable loads.
